The city is situated in the north-west Rajasthan. The city celebrates its foundation day on the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritiya by flying kites, high in the sky. Like many other cities in the Rajasthan, this city is also famous for forts. The Junagarh Fort holds a special place. The Fort was built in the era of maharanas. Other attractions of the city include Lalgarh, Bhandsar Jain temple, Mukam Bishnoi temple, Karni Mata temple and Lakshmi Niwas Palace. The city is also famous for its Bikaner Camel Research Center. A government museum, the Ganga Museum is also worth visiting.
